Founding Clinical Officer, Cataract Care

We are seeking a clinical expert in Ophthalmology surgical services to join our team as we de-risk and launch a program that addresses the shortage of specialty surgeons in rural communities. 

You will join the team in the Validation stage, assisting with research and leveraging your expertise and connections to help launch the program into the market. During this stage you will have access to funding, resources, and an experienced New Ventures team to help develop your business.

This is a part-time, remote, contract to hire opportunity, with the ability to convert into a full time 

Founder position depending on if the portfolio company meets our investment committee's standards to move forward to scale. If your program becomes a funded MVP, you will be the leader of this portfolio company while receiving support from the Studio’s internal venture-building team and external partners. You will also be provided with a transparent funding roadmap to build, scale, and ultimately launch your new business while being part of an active community of entrepreneurs who are seeking to revolutionize the Healthcare industry.

What you can expect from this opportunity:

• You will be responsible for scaling an Ophthalmology surgical services program post launch, taking learnings from the MVP and iterating the strategy

• You will be responsible for relationship building at scale across various clinical stakeholder groups in the rural cataract care landscape

• Along with a co-founder, you will be responsible for building a pitch deck and presenting to the Healthworx Studio Investment Committee at the end of your contract to take this program to scale

• Along with the Managing Partner, you will define and set to achieve operational, program, and revenue growth milestones

• You will ensure that the program’s services continually align with clinical best practices, evidence-based research, and regulatory requirements

• You will be responsible for advocating for the program in various events, conferences, and forums

• In the immediate post-MVP stage, you will lead your assigned Studio support staff (business, product, engineering) along with recruiting, training and retaining a high performance team

• You will continually collaborate with Healthworx Studio's leadership, advisors, other portfolio company Founders and external stakeholders
